Lady Captain’s Update The rain has certainly persisted over this last week, bringing with it course closures on really bad days and waterproofs and damp golf on the good days. Certainly a reminder that the season is drawing to a close, autumn is well and truly here and winter is on its way, but I guess a rainy day at golf is still better than a sunny day at the office! The junior trip (Brooke Trophy) took place on Saturday in the form of a trip to Owston. Mr Captain assured me that he knew his way to Owston with verification of which exit from the A1 we needed to take. For confirmation and future reference it is the exit that he managed to speed past and miss, he should be renamed Dynamo as his disappearing act was second to none. Thankfully all attendees arrived in time for their allocated tee times. An afternoon of golf in the sun and rain with umbrellas up and down and waterproofs on and off which was rounded off with steak pie and chips. The winner of the Brooke Trophy 2019 with 35 points is Junior Captain Tom Ruecroft. My thanks to all who attended and supported the trip. The ladies section will host the Festive Fayre on Thursday 10th October. A day to be enjoyed by both our lady members and visitors. Fingers crossed for a reasonable day which will be my last golf day as Lady Captain.
