Lady Captain’s News The trip to Rudding Park was followed by a busy few days which started with a ladies meeting and discussions of what comps lie ahead. So to update and remind you the married and family foursomes will be held on Saturday, 31 August – 3.30pm tee time. We have attracted a reasonable amount of interest but there’s always space for more. That will be followed immediately by the Mixed Open, Invitation Day on Sunday, 1 September. Whilst this week, the Rabbits are sharpening their game and preparing for our annual Rabbits V Ladies match on Thursday, fingers crossed and clubs at the ready for a good result, hopefully, a result favouring the ladies. Two trips to two opens this last few days brought about very different results for me. A visit to Championship course Moor Allerton reminded myself and the girls that we are not championship golfers but I am happy to say that we still enjoyed the experience. My second open of the week on Sunday and a visit to Crosland Heath for the Mixed Pairs Open, a more positive result and better golf. Sadly John and I missed out on a fourth-place by one-point. Of course, the compulsory inquest took place, the discussion centred on the greens and the conversation was closed with the final comment of it’s a case of ifs and putts. Our ladies competition of the weekend was the Mary Cusworth, Bogey Comp. As I type, the results are not in but ladies you will be informed in due course. Happy golfing, Judi.
