Captain's Weekend Windy conditions and tough pin positions affected the scoring, only two members broke par with one under 68, Alan Daniels and Richard Lee, well-done guys. Over the last few weeks, I have been on the course with Alan working on improving his course management and short game, the work is paying off.
In joint second place are five others including our Lady Captain, Judi Brooke and vice competitions chairman Honest Nige. Good luck to all involved and with only five shots from 1st to 20th – it’s still anyone’s to win.

Play-Off Results Well done to my good friend Mo, winning the Captain’s Prize with scores of 72 and 63. Mo seems to show good form in mid-summer, I’m starting to think the red wine must be at the perfect temperature for him. Winning Division One was Honest Nige with scores of 69 and 68, and in Division two was a Pupil of mine; David Townend with scores of 72 and 64 - after last night, maybe he needs to invest in a new watch...only joking pal these things happen. It was great to see that all qualifiers turned up to play their round and support our Club Captain Chris.

A fairy tale week for Lowry... Ireland becomes one...maybe we need Shane Lowry to head Brexit to sort out a deal with the E.U (Don’t think we need a hard border between the two). What an event, Tiger and Rory headline the missed cuts, Tommy playing great, but still couldn’t catch Shano! I said that it would be a championship where the winner would be outside the top 30 players, the weather helped on Sunday. The conditions helped Shane, the Americans all fell away, leaving the top ten covered with Europeans - only Tony Finau coped out of all the Americans. I’m sure the Guinness factory was working overtime, the atmosphere in the bars after looked awesome attached below a video of Shane with the Claret Jug.
