Captain’s trip Fifty-two of us headed to Slayley Hall for Chris our Club Captain’s trip, a great venue with two tough demanding courses. The first day we played for the Fred Ellis Shield over the championship course, after playing it a few weeks before I had a score of 38 points to be the winning score. I was a couple of points out, winning with a total of 40 points were Joe Ratcliffe and Sam Wilcock, both have shown some good form over the last few weeks and have both won the competition in the past with different partners. In second place were the two Dave’s Webster and Barker, great to see maybe not the pair I would have selected to do well but with a score of 39 points well-done guys. On the Sunday, we played a Fourball Betterball Stableford and beat the Pro/Captain challenge, we managed a score of 38 points with some inconsistent golf between us, winning the competition were Mick Foster and John Wilcock with 43 points, beating three other pairs by one-point. Thanks to Chris for organising another great Captain’s trip and congratulations to Steve Farrar on accepting the role of been Club Captain in 2021.
