Rabbits Captain’s Weekend It was another weekend of great scoring, especially with the weather on Sunday being blustery and wet. As the saying goes ‘you can play many a good tune on an old fiddle’, and this weekend it happened a few times with Mick McGowan coming in with a 63. A great score, and in my nearly 20 years at HHGC, I don’t think Mick has had many scores under par. And another elder statesmen Ian ‘Sidewinder’ Sidebottom in joint second place with a 64; the last time Sidey shot 64, he would have been a teenager...only joking pal but it’s been a tough 12 years of golf but great to see a score in the tougher of the weekend conditions.
Unfortunately, Sidey was beaten by Bob Smith on the back-nine, looks like the new clubs, gapping session and the 12 months of lessons has kicked in - well done Bob. 20 out of 86 recorded scores were level par or better, I think we maybe need to grow the rough up as you members are making it look easy.
