It seems the golf season at HHGC is starting to boom... There are lots of “knockouts” and team matches keeping the course busy, which is good to see. The Whitby trip is on the horizon for the gents and the ladies keep getting into a huddle re plans for their trips, comps and open events entries. Let’s hope the rain doesn’t dampen our spirits.
Thank you to those who supported the May Day Mixed. Once again, we proved to have a little bit of luck with the weather, only encountering a short light rain shower. The results as follows:
- First place - Gillian Littlewood and Ian Sidebottom - 67 nett.
- Second place - Judi Brooke and Francis Nelson - 68.5 nett.
As usual, I am the bridesmaid and not the bride. A big thank you to those who supported the mixed. The list is in the hallway for anyone wanting to play on the Spring Bank Holiday Monday. The Ladies played a Medal comp on Sunday & Tuesday, results are as follows: - First place - Megan Hutchinson - 75 nett.
- Second place - Gillian Littlewood - 81 nett.
I attended my first Race Night at the Club on Saturday arranged by Friends In Deed for their charity. Very much a family night with a lovely atmosphere. Ollie “The Wiggle” Broadbent retained the title of overall winner. It seems he’s perfected the art of riding a pretend wooden horse with a stunning performance in the final. It’s always nice to see the clubhouse busy on an evening and great to see lots of money raised for a local charity. Well done to all involved. Happy golfing. Judi B
