Ladies Fourball Betterball Stableford Results What a fabulous week for the Golf Club last week.
I had the honour of attending the Investors Preview of the Simulator on Wednesday evening.
It is no secret that I was always in favour of the Simulator and the launch on Wednesday absolutely blew my mind. What an amazing piece of equipment.
Thursday brought the evening with Graeme Storm. I was invited to play a hole on the simulator with Mr Captain, Rabbits Captain Trevor and Graeme as an onlooker and adviser. With knees knocking I took up the challenge. I am delighted to report (and of course I will continue to report) that I finished in let’s say a better position than the gents.
Even though I have met Graeme several times in the past, I was unaware of his skills as a public speaker. Gareth proved to be a great interviewer, move over Parky, and Graeme kept the attention of a full to packed clubhouse with stories and anecdotes from his golfing career.
The week then quickly moved forward to my Lady Captain’s Charity Evening on Saturday. To the best of my knowledge we have not had a Lady Captain’s evening for several years. This did make me wonder if I was either mad or foolish to host such an event. However, I am delighted to report that the evening was a huge success. A total of £ 1505.00 was made on the night for Crohn & Colitis UK with further donations received over this last few days from friends who could not be there. Can I please take this opportunity to offer my most sincere thanks to everyone who supported the evening. I am truly grateful for your help, kindness and generosity.
Whilst the gents scrambled at the weekend the Ladies played a fourball betterball.
The results are as follows: 1st - Karen Dodgson and Deborah Spendler - 39 points 2nd - Judi Brooke and Julie Oates - 36 points I hope to see you on Friday evening at the Presentation Evening. Happy golfing. Judi
