USPGA/European Tour A great weekend of golf with top players in contention in both events going into the last round. Justin Rose using his new Homna clubs, although still using the TaylorMade TP5 ball and fairway woods won the Farmers Insurance Open by two-shots, I don’t think it will be long before Homna will get their 10 Million investment back in club sales.
In Dubai, the physician Bryson DeChambeau won by a margin of seven-shots, with a record score of 24 under par, awesome golf. His outlook on the game is in my eyes too dramatic and too intense, his process from working out the yardage to what club he hits and when takes way over the new 40 second rule, he should be penalised every shot and I’m sure soon he will. As for the Chinese golfer, Haotong Li who got a two-shot penalty on the final green, the rules official stated that his caddy was stood behind him in setup which he clearly wasn’t, this cost him 272,000 euros. The tour has to be brave enough to penalise all players if this is the case, and Bryson should maybe have been penalised a few times over the week for slow play, let’s wait and see what happens in the future or are the big players going to get away with it.
