Presidents weekend and play-off Another fantastic weekend of weather, and good golf played by some of the members, leading after the weekends golf was Jennifer Wailes with a nett 65, followed a shot behind 66 was Paul Ratcliffe, Richard Pollard and James Richardson, the qualifying score for the top 16 was 69. Wednesday evening the play-off with all the scores pretty close anyone from the qualifiers could win, Scott Colquhoun shot a 70 gross for a nett 63 and total score of 130 surely that would be enough to win. The last three out on the course to come would bring in the winner and create a piece of Hanging Heaton History Gillian Littlewood shot a nett 59 to beat Scott by four shots incredible golf and becomes the first lady golfer to win the club Presidents Prize - well done Gillian. We also had another lady finishing in third place a stalwart of the club Dot Tingle with a second round score of 65 to finish with a total of 134. Schutz Trophy and Sleights Cup Well done to Paul Ratcliffe on winning the Shutz Trophy with a great score of 70 gross for a nett 65 beating Matt Whitehead by one shot in to second place. The winner of the Sleights Cup was our Club Captain with a Nett score of 63 beating the inform Mick Scott by one shot. This is a great result for Alister who over the last few months hasn’t really shown much form but that’s Golf you can struggle for months and then it just all falls together, hope her doesn’t lose too many shots with his trip coming up next weekend. |
