Another great weekend for TaylorMade Great wins for Haotong Li in Dubai beating Rory McIlroy by one shot in the desert, and then Jason Day using the new M3 Driver and fairway wood beating Alex Noren in a 6 hole play-off at Torrey Pines. This is fantastic advertising for the new product that will be launched over the coming weeks.
So far a TaylorMade Driver has won 2 out of the first 3 events in Europe, and 3 out of 4 events in the USA. I can’t wait to have the demo clubs in the shop and give you the chance to see for yourselves how they perform! Dubai/Malaysia We had a fantastic week in the Dubai, it’s the perfect winter retreat, great weather, food, drink and hospitality, amazing how it’s all built in the desert. As for the golf, Stormy again failed to make the cut but from what I saw he’s starting to move in the right direction and hopefully make a few cuts from now on. It’s weird that even the top golfers seem to have the same frustrations as the club golfer, and the big thing we all need in the game is self-belief and confidence.
I hope some of you backed my tip for the week; Alex Levy who finished 4th overall (each-way lol), the young Frenchman is fearless and I there’s a good chance he will make the Ryder Cup team in September. This week the tour moves on to Malaysia at the Saujana Golf and country club, this is a massive test for all the players as the weather is 27 degrees at 8am and a humidity of 90%; basically means you sweat a lot lol! My pick for this week is Bernd Weisberger, his record in Malaysia is strong with 3 top 5’s over the last few years.
