Club Four Ball Better Ball Competition Winners

Congratulations to Scot Minto and Paul Ratcliffe who were the winners of Division one with a fantastic score of 45 points. In second place were Scot Minto and Wayne Fortis with a score of 41 points. 

In Division two the winners were Chris Fletcher and Richard Clayton with a score of 44 points. In second place were Steve Tattersfield and Peter Wilson with a score of 41 points.

Stormy in Shanghai

Last week Graeme got an unexpected entry into the World Golf HSBC Championship in Shanghai. Hopefully he can get a top 20 finish in a high class field, after this event he has the three last Rolex events finishing with the race to Dubai. All the events have a purse of $7,000,000 and with no cuts this could be very lucrative for him, good luck and keep up the hard work!

As from this weekend, I will be collecting entries for the above draw. Cost is £5 to enter, the event starts on Thursday, 16 November.

Sale rail

Over the coming weeks, I’ll be putting out a sale rail with different clothing range with a 50% discount as from this weekend. All club logo clothing will be on the rail; this is a great opportunity for you to purchase quality clothing from Greg Norman at ridiculously low prices.

Is slow play coming to an end?

The Rules of Golf are undergoing dramatic change at the moment as the R&A and USGA – golf’s two governing bodies – look to bring the game inline with today’s needs. Their Rules Modernisation initiative includes several updates that’ll hopefully bring about a faster speed of play and shorter rounds of golf; no one wants to be taking 4+ hours to play 18 holes.

Well now the European Tour want to do their bit and to be fair to them, they’ve been at the forefront of modernising golf with innovative events such as Super 6 and GolfSixes. This week they’ve introduced a new event onto the 2018 calendar – the 2018 Shot Clock Masters. As the name suggests, players will have a strict 40-second shot clock on each stroke in an aim to cut round time by at least 45 minutes. The punishment if they take too long? A one-stroke penalty.
