What's coming up?

  • Saturday, 3 September - Mixed Open Greensomes, £16 per couple, Shotgun start 1pm, last few spots available, if interested contact Jennifer Wailes or the Pro-shop.
  • Tuesday, 5 September - The first Hanging Heaton Seniors Open sponsored by Oak Park Care Homes, poster attached cost £15 per pair, age over 55’s, includes Bacon Sandwich with Tea/Coffee on arrival, to reserve tee times contact the Pro-shop or email.
  • Friday, 15 September - Clarks Brewery sponsored Am-Am, £40 per four person team includes Bacon Sandwich with Tea/Coffee and a free pint after play, contact the pro-shop to reserve times.
Club news

Scratch team

Well done to the scratch team who have won the league and now been promoted to the 1st Division. This has never been achieved in the clubs history!

Rabbits team

The rabbits team have also won their Division; congratulations goes out to all that’s played.

Junior team knockouts

A reminder that the Juniors will be playing the semi-final of the Junior team Knockout against Woodsome Hall on Sunday, 27 August, 9am at Bradley Park. I hope some of you will come along and give them some support.

Captain's prize

Congratulations to Adam Link on winning the Captain’s Prize, it’s an incredible achievement and he received a standing ovation at the prize presentation evening, something that he and many of us will never forget, but I’m sure we will all be reminded! LOL.

Choose the right ball

Not only is playing with the same model of golf ball each round important for your consistency, but you need to make sure that you’re taking to the course with a ball that suits your game and feel preferences. Comparing different balls is a great way to narrow down what you are after.

Scoring system

During a chat about your goals, price range and personal preferences we can make a few ball recommendations for you to go and try. Why not use the above scoring system when out on the course to determine which ball is best for your game?

SHORT GAME FIRST

Side-by-side testing should make it easier to notice any preferences you have, but if you don’t have a clear winner we’d always recommend prioritising the ball you prefer around the greens, as this is where you take the majority of your shots and what influences your final score the most.
